Hi Bob,
This might sound obvious, but don't forget:::
1. disconnect the fuel pipe from the fuel tap.
2. disconnect the vacuum pipe from the fuel tap.
With the tap set to ON.
When you have lifted up the tank::::
reach upder the tank and...
3. disconnect the speedometer cable from the speedometer (or you can disconnect the cable from the engine before you start and leave it connected to the speedometer)... and
4. disconnect the electrical connector from the speedometer.
When you get used to it, you will have the tank off in a couple of minutes.
